CommunityMembers provides you with the membership database and management tools that are the backbone of our entire software suite, tying all our solutions together into one cohesive unit. Visitors can register and become official site members, granting them access to new areas of your community.

General

	Works with a MySQL database to store member data.
	Customize your own login form or use the default.
	Includes support for htaccess integration.
	Have login sessions expire when the browser session ends (when a user closes their web browser).
	Guests (non-logged in users) are tracked across the site.
	A powerful member search function can search based on any field in the member profile.
	"Who's Online" page included listing members currently on the site, and their location.
	Return a simple list of all members and guests currently on the site.
	Usernames are almost always clickable to open a member's profile.

Registration

	Customize the registration form.
	Include all the fields you need, with 90 default questions to choose form.
	Create your own questions using 30 "filler" fields – 10 text fields, 10 drop-down menus and 10 date/time fields.
	Determine whether a question appears in the registration form, edit profile form or both.
	Flag a field as "required".
	Edit the text labels and add a description for each field.
	Generate reports based on the information provided.
	Export reports for use in external programs (e.g. Excel).
	Export member data as XML-formatted output.
	Require admin approval of new registrants.
	Display a rules page at registration that users must click-through to register.
	Enable and disable COPPA compliance.
	Assign the initial password or allow a registrant to choose their own.

Profiles

	Each member has a private profile/account page.
	Each member has a public profile ("more info") page.
	Usernames are almost always clickable to open a member's "more info" page.
	A personal photo can be included in a member's profile.
	An icon/avatar can be selected from a gallery of available clipart.
	A member can upload his own icon/avatar.
	A flag can be inserted in the profile pages, corresponding to the member's country of origin.
	A geographical map of a user's country can be included in a member's profile pages.
	An icon can be inserted in the profile based on the Gender a user has entered.
	An image indicated whether the user is currently online or offline can be included in the profiles.
	Members can maintain a "Buddy List" of favorite members.
	An anonymous contact form can be included in the "more info" page.

Intra-site Messenger

	Allows members to leave short messages to each other at your site.
	A virtual pop-up appears when a member has a new message.
	Messages are sent using a simple compose form.
	Members can create folders to store their messages.
	Members can add other members to their Buddy List directly from a message.
	A member can view a 'message history' of all messages they've exchanged with someone on their buddy list.
	Members can "block" other members to stop receiving their messages.

Administration

	Create new members in the admin area, if public registration is not desired.
	Edit or delete any membership.
	Configure the duration of the login session.
	Hooks have been to allow easier integration with external systems.
	Send an email to all members.
	Use tags in outgoing email to include member data – e.g. "Hello [FIRSTNAME],"
	Search for members based on any criteria.
	Ability to look up members by IP address.
	View inactive members.
	Ban members based on username, IP address or email address.
	Temporarily disable any membership.
	View failed login attempts.
	Set minimum and maximum lengths on usernames.
	Edit the body and subject of all automatic emails.

Security

	Passwords are only transmitted once.
	Users identified internally by a unique string.
	All passwords are encrypted.

Privilege Groups

	Create and configure different levels of membership called "privilege groups".
	Access controls span the entire BuildACommunity Suite.
	Charge a recurring fee for access to a more advanced group (there should be at least 1 basic free group).
	Control access to various programs (Auto-EmailPro, BAC Calendar, etc).
	Restrict the ability to create clubs (Auto-Clubs).
	Restrict access to certain games (Auto-GamesPro).
	Restrict the ability to use elements like the address book and calendar in the start page (Auto-HomePage).
	Limit the amount of disk space a member may use in CommunityWeaver, Auto-EmailPro and CommunityAlbums.
	Limit the number of plugins a member can use in the CommunityWeaver webpage editor (counters, polls, etc).
	Set a maximum number of signatures, attachments, POP3 accounts, filters and aliases in Auto-EmailPro.
	Restrict access to certain forums in CommunityForums.
	Restrict access to certain categories of content in Aardvark Publisher and Aardvark Catalog.
	Limit access to the classifieds Contact Form in Auto-ClassifiedsPro.
	Display different page content to members of different privilege groups using special "PRIV" plugins.
	Display the latest member of a privilege group.
